This image shows a digital section of the developing trunk vasculature of a zebrafish embryo viewed from the rear, or dorsal perspective. The main vessel seen runs along from the top to the bottom, connecting other vessels. After each muscle segment, finer vessels split off to the right and left to supply oxygen and nutrients to the tissue.
Technique: The image was acquired using a Zeiss Z.1 light-sheet fluorescence microscope with a Plan-Apochromat 20×/1.0 Corr nd=1.38 objective and a scientific complementary metal-oxide semiconductor detection unit. Signal from stable transgenic line was acquired, and maximum intensity projection and colouration were conducted using Fiji.
