This image shows a digital section through the eye of a developing zebrafish to study development. Shown are retinal support cells, called glia cells (cyan), and all the cell nuclei in the section of the retina (white). Using these data, we can start to understand how cells grow in 3D space and interact with other cells.

Technique: The image was acquired with the Zeiss LSM 900 AiryScan microscope, using a 40x water-immersion LD C-Apochromat (NA 1.1) objective. Processing was conducted using Zeiss ZenBlack and Fiji. Data were reduced to a maximum intensity projection and false-colours applied.
