This ink and watercolour drawing shows a kingfisher perching on a branch. This image was inspired by a boat trip on the river Ouse in York (UK) where kingfisher can be seen on the riverbanks.
A time lapse of how this drawing was made by the artist Dr Elisabeth Kugler and can be found on YouTube. The original was finished with Winsor and Newton golden ink - printing can not mimic the metallic sheen and properties.
The original was an ink and watercolour on heavy-weight 300 gsm acid-free Derwent watercolour paper.
